Amanda Zamora | About

Amanda Zamora is the national digital editor at The Washington Post, leading campaign coverage for the 2012 election on washingtonpost.com. Amanda began her journalism career at the Austin American-Statesman, working as an editorial aide and reporter (and later, an online producer) while at The University of Texas at Austin School of Journalism. Amanda first joined The Washington Post in 2003, spending six years as an online editor and producer, in different areas, including foreign and metro news and the investigative reporting unit. She was also a fellow with the Western Knight Center for Specialized Journalism. In 2008, Amanda spent six months examining Virginia’s mental health system as a Knight Digital Media Fellow with the Kiplinger Program in Public Affairs Journalism at Ohio State University. In 2009, Amanda was hired to help launch the Huffington Post Investigative Fund, a nonprofit news site based in Washington, D.C. A year later, she rejoined The Washington Post as its first social media and engagement editor.
